Church of the Medici Saints

Demolished in 1863 the old church of S. Giovanni Battista in which the homonymous Brotherhood was organized, by the canon D. Luigi Cataldi, was built the current church dedicated to Saints Cosimo and Damiano.

Master builders were Vincenzo De Vittorio and his sons Sebastiano, Gaetano and Vito.

First run by a Commission chaired by Can. Achille Consiglio, the church was then the seat of the deputation of Saints Cosimo and Damiano, constituted in the form of a Catholic Association.

On the front are interesting the two niches on the sides of the portal with San Giovanni and the Medici Saints made of papier-mâché by local craftsmen.
